5m Race - Defeated
Today, at
Everise, there is a Big Boom Sale.
My mom woke
me up at 730am to accompany my dad to go to Everise to grab some of the
discount products. I agreed.
We reached
Everise at 800am. There were around two dozen people around that time. My dad
and I situated ourselves at the entrance which we taught would be closer and
would lead us faster to the Compaq toilet tissue.
And so we
waited.
15 minutes
later, the place started to pack. A sea of people arrived and started to
squeeze into any available space. Unfortunately, a big, fat guy stood behind me
and he has a huge belly. He stood so near to me that his belly was literally
stuck to my back. I can even felt his breath down my neck, and it was rotting
with durian smell. The smell was bearable when he was breathing, but again
unfortunately, he enjoyed cracking unfunny jokes to his companion, thus the
pungent smell intensified. Plus, as expected, the uncles and aunties around me
do not have their morning bath and the body odour smell is heavy in the air.
At 830am,
we expected any minutes to burst in and snatch one or two Compaq toilet
tissues. The insolent, huge, obese, smelly guy behind me suddenly put his hand
on my waist. I was just planning to glare at him when the entrance opened.
Using his huge belly and his hand on my waist, he pushed me aside and rushed
inside. Now, that truly defines barbarian well. I am only surprised that it
still exists in the modern world!
Seeing
everyone was running, I ran too. I reached the place but there were already a
few aunties and uncles in front. They took two or three or four Compaq tissue
each. It was hilarious when I saw them fighting with each other to grab their Compaq.
After a moment, I felt it was demeaning upon them. Those who have grabbed a few
Compaq, were unable to move anywhere else since people at the back kept pushing
to the front. I too, was stuck in the middle, unable to leave this mad-rush
place.
I failed to
grab any Compaq. Apparently there are only 8 to 10 Compaq tissues available on
sale. High demand but low ‘penawaran’. However I managed to get few scratches here
and there.
What is a
cheap sale if there is only less than a dozen Compaq available? If I knew, I
won’t even go to Everise for the Big Boom Sale. Also, the opening hours is
supposedly 0830. but today, it opens at 0845. I have to bear extra 15 minutes
with that disgusting, fat man behind me.
The Compaq
is only RM1++ cheaper than usual. To go through all those trouble to grab
Compaq is totally not worth it. During the rush, one might get hurt as well.
The rush I saw just now in Everise is crazier than the rush I experienced at
KTM rush hour. And it is all for the sake of a few ringgit. I’m glad my dad
turns out well. No scratches.
